How We Manage ABI

Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) is brain damage that occurs after birth due to trauma, stroke, infection, or medical conditions. It can lead to changes in memory, behaviour, movement, and speech.

ABI is listed under NDIS Condition List B, meaning it is likely to cause long-term impairment and may meet eligibility requirements. NDIS support is growing to meet rising demand.

Conditions that may be classified as ABI:

  • Stroke (brain stem or cerebellar)
  • Parkinson’s disease (acquired)
  • Alzheimer’s or vascular dementia
  • Hydrocephalus (post-traumatic)

Clinical Support That Makes a Difference

People with ABI often require clinical care that adjusts over time. Our goal is to improve daily function, safety, and emotional wellbeing through consistent, expert-led support.

Focus areas of clinical care:

  • Managing physical and cognitive changes
  • Behavioural and psychosocial support
  • Preventing secondary complications
  • Supporting independence in daily life
